The Black Indian experience is a story of silenced and marginalized communities that is rarely recognized in the United States. As we take a moment to learn about this community's racial and ethnic history and background, our hope is that students will be able to see the reality of another population that is part of Gods beloved community. Learning about the unique realities of communities that can be different from our own, while still recognizing the human and historical connections we have to each other are a key component to starting a better understanding of reconciliation and the many facets we all have to try to piece together... realizing that the work of a reconciler is never accomplished as long as histories are untold and oppression continues.
